Hello

Welcome to Connect Therapy, Counselling and Coaching. My name is Jamie and I work integratively to provide support for a wide range of issues. You can find out more about me and my experience below.

You can see a full breakdown of the services available, including fees, here.

All sessions are available to access via phone, online or in person from our base in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

My Story

My journey to becoming a counsellor has been a long and winding one and includes several years working within education - both secondary and tertiary - within organisations and within charities and social enterprises.

My qualifications include:

MA in Integrative Counselling

Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision

Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling

BACP Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People

Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Recovery

PGCE

BA(Hons) in Philosophy and Psychology

I specialise in working with domestic and sexual abuse and childhood sexual abuse and trauma. Though I am qualified to work in many areas, including the following:

  • Working with suicide and self-harm, including suicidal ideation and thoughts

  • Disordered eating and body image

  • LGBTQIA+ friendly practice

  • Neurodivergence, especially ADHD/AuDHD

  • Depression and Anxiety

  • Addiction and Substance Abuse

  • Sexual dysfunction (including following abuse or trauma)

CPD is a core component of any effective therapist's practice, and I continually update and expand my knowledge of psychotherapeutic practice and support, as well as specialist training with specific mental health and psychiatric conditions.

I am a fully accredited professional registrant of NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society) which uphold a strict code of ethics and aim to ensure client safety and wellbeing throughout the therapeutic journey. You can find out more about them, including their code of ethics and complaints policy here.

I am also a Fellow of the Mental Health Collective which brings together professionals by training and professionals by lived experience of mental health concerns and services to better support and advocate for those most in need.

Alongside my private counselling practice, I also work as a counselling tutor with Collaborative Counselling Academy based in Stevenage, on their CPCAB diploma course, and as a Clinical and Safegurding Trustee at One In Four (London)which is a specialist counselling and advocacy service providing support for those affected by childhood sexual abuse.
